  • Tonight (finally turning off Fable), I flipped on the television and watched the end of that modern day Romeo & Juliet flick. You know, the one with Leo and Claire. Now I have successfully watched the beginning and the end of that movie, perfectly cutting out the middle. I hate when I do that.

My mother sent me this site. I have decided to post it, assuming that it will come in handy for at least one of you spontaneous readers.

  •     Addiction is typically a negative thing, but I do not care.

Since Sunday night I have been bedridden (or couch-ridden, depending on the time of day) with a bit of a flu. Tortured with my boredom, I insisted that my little-though-bigger-than-I-brother bring home some sort of Xbox game to keep me occupied. He returned home at 7:30pm with my destiny.

        The game is Fable.

From the minute he walked in the door through 12:45am I was completely zoned out. I was battling Bandits, slaying Hobbes, taking Quests, and obeying my Guild Master the way a good Hero should. Finally, I went to bed, completely convinced that I was totally obsessed and had become an absolute nerd. Who plays video games for over five hours at a time? Not I.

Unfortunately, five hours wasnt going to remain my record. This morning I awoke, feverish. I fed my parrot, switched on the Xbox, slumped onto the couch, and played from 9:30am to 9:00pm. I stopped only for one shower, bathroom breaks, and meals breaks (I paused the game...no way would I shut it off).

Within the past two days, I, the nature-freak-outside-dweller, have been outside once. This adventure took me down the driveway to the garbage cans to throw something away. Instead of the real wilderness, I have been roaming the virtual forests of Darkwood and Witchwood, the town of Oakvale, and the caves of the Hobbes.

My love for Fable is so true I can admit this:

Deprived of sunshine and muscle movement (beside my fingers), I am an absolutely obsessed, entirely fanatical, rabidly insane, compulsive Axe-wielding, Fire-starting, Lighting-summoning, dysfunctional geek.

  • I made a decision to rekindle the love between me and my rat, Fish. I didn't notice something about him until I removed him from his cage and cradled him against my chest. I hadn't held him in such a long time he was given the chance to change. Sure, he is the same sweet, kissable, snuggable rat, yet...larger. I busted out the scale and tape measure.
Fish is 18 inches long from his nose to his tail and weighs exactly one pound.
    Fish is big.
    He's my Big Fish.
    I love.
